Given that her role-playing presence is nonetheless the most stable element within this spectacle [the Calgary Stampede Parade], the piece seems to hold hybrid or unfixed identity as a fundamental condition (or maybe survival strategy) of places constructed in the cultural imaginary - such as the anachronism of a contemporary Canadian Wild West.
